As for production it is easy to see that it is stylistically less demanding. I switched to a five/six panel to ease the reader a little more and easier to distinguish the timeline. Personally, I tend to pick random points in the story board and draw those instead of a more linear approach. I really believe this keeps things fresh and is less counter productive. However, from doing this segmented story which needs to be linked together poses a new threat: making each page interesting enough to stand alone.
Originally the strip had no name but Carrotman and Friends but it was decided that the storyline should not be just based on one main feature. A week before there was a need for a name and Channel 26 just came up. Hopefully this series or type will never truly end and we will be enthusiastic about creating this all the way through.
So what about the story?
Daniel Laces is an accountant in an office building with many other small companies and overseen by a select few, such as Big Tex. The name of the initial group is Marx Accounting in No Wear Town. Some of the humor is off, dry or just not funny, like when Big Tex's height is in question on one page. A sinister being looms over this building and in the first seasons it is Daniel and friends job to stop it.
He is currently an underpaid employee, who crunches numbers all day, overseen by Jason (the bird looking one). Jason really takes a lot of characterization from such shows as Duckman and Donald Duck and claims to be of a royal race of Auks. His demeanor however is much like Roast Beef from the internet comic Achewood all the way down to the ties the employees constantly wear. And why shouldn't they?
Other influences would be Bone comics by Jeff Smith and Doonesbury.
More to come.
